Leslie Franco, 3rd, 2/07/17 Fan Cart Lab I. purpose of this experiment is to determine how the mass of the cart affects the acceleration of the cart. II. In this lab, we will make the tracks on the table and then, level it by adjusting the feet of the tracks. Next, place the cart on the track and adjust it. Then, place the fan on the car and adjust it. Next, measure how many seconds it takes the cart to travel the distance of the track when the fan is turned on. Then, record the time, the distance, and the mass of the cart. Next, Do this for 4 different masses (one mass should be of the cart alone, with no extra weights attached). Then, distance should be the same for every trial. III. We hypothesis that the less weight, the faster it’ll go, the more weight will have an affect on the cart and it’ll go slower. IV. The materials we will use would be tracks, a cart, a fan/ guy or girl , a timer, mass or weights, and data recorder.
