Unformatted text preview: The Poseidon Adventure In The Poseidon Adventure, an enormous wave flips over a very large cruise ship called the Poseidon. Because of this enormous wave many people died, but there were a number of survivors located in the ballroom. Out of all the survivors left in the ballroom, they all come to the agreement of splitting up into two groups. The one set of survivors plan to stay in the ballroom and think of ways to escape, and the others try to go to the top of the ship and see if they can be rescued. The reverend, Gene Hackman, takes charge of his group of ten survivors and takes them to the hull of the ship to escape. Out of the ten that were in Reverend Scotts group only six of them were able to survive. Reverend Scott said, That God will not fight for people, and that people need to fight for themselves. Scott says this to the people in his group when they argue with him about the church. This argument in my mind foreshadowed the survivors fight to live.
