Ryan Smith Full Adder and Comparator Object : To observe the operation of a four-bit adder, 74LS83, and the comparator, 74LS85. Part I Addition using the 74LS83: 1101 1000 +1100 +1011 11001 10011 Part II Comparing using the 74LS85: 1011 > 1001 0111 = 0111 1001 < 1100 Procedure: In Part I I set up the four-bit adder 74LS84 chip on the CADET workbench and used the logic switches to add the binary numbers that were given. By observing the logic light switches, I was able to tell if the connections and chip were working

Unformatted text preview: correctly. In Part II of the lab I set up the 74LS85 ship on the CADET workbench and used the logic switches to enter the given numbers to see whether they were less than, greater than, or equal to each other. Conclusion: I found this lab to be fun; I enjoyed creating the circuits and seeing it actually function correctly. I learned how to add binary numbers using the four-bit adder 72LS83 chip, and hot to compare binary numbers using the 74LS85 chip....
