While it is true that urbanization and industrialization brought a lot of good to Europe andNorth American through job creation it also made things worse for an “ordinary factory worker”.Urbanization and industrialization did provide more work for people but because cities were growing rapidly due to urbanization it caused overcrowding which lead to cramped housing and noisy, unhealthy, and dangerous work conditions, (Goof, Moss, Terry, Upshur, Schroeder, 2012). Urbanization and industrialization also brought about a new wave of imperialism. Imperialism is essentially forcing your power onto another through diplomacy or military power. What caused the resurgence in imperialism in the early 20thcentury was that industrialized nations needed newmarkets and raw materials, often from abroad, so western nations built up a worldwide industrial and agricultural network by extending their political and economic control over much of the rest of the world, (Goof, Moss, Terry, Upshur, Schroeder, 2012). This caused problems for an
