The aim of writing this study is to shed some light on the Common Core State Standards
for English Language Arts. It strives to explain what Developmentally Appropriate Practices
(DAP) means, and at the same time explaining the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). This
article includes suggestions on how to implement these CCSS’s and maintain developmentally
appropriate practices in kindergarten. The article touches on possible outcomes of DAP and non-
DAP practices on Kindergarten- age children and their sense of self- efficacy in learning to read.
Creativity and Innovation
Creativity and innovation are teaching strategies that provide a learning structure and
boundaries so the teachers can approach learning with a variety of instructional strategies.
Therefore, encouraging children to believe in their culture. Culture refers to a system of
knowledge shared by a relatively large group of people. It is cultivated the behavior of what a
person has to learn, with transmitting experience and habits through social learning. Cultures
have been modified and improved through creativity and innovation; this has brought new ways
of doing things and in a better way.
Promoting experiment and inquiry and a willingness to make mistakes. As a result, this
involves incorporating risk in the creativity and innovation process. The students characterize
their abilities to perceive 21
st-
century technology in new world learning. They promote
experiment through taking new technologies, coming up with a new business model and improve
internal processes and controls. Creativity is an encouraging way to expression personal ideas
and feelings. Communication is one of the vital things that play a great role in creativity. A

creative environment where individuals have time to express their creative and innovation with

-century skills for the new idea generation.
Helping learners find their creative strengths. Critically realizing through active learning,
and it engages students to a high-level of thinking. Providing interactions, creating opportunities
and allowing students to come up with new questions. As a result, through community building
that creates an environment of trust. Lastly, risk-taking is encouraged to allow creativity and
innovativeness in a student’s mind. Risk taking is a recognition of a safe environment that allow
the children to learn with risk-taking.
