BMAL 560 Liberty University Worldview-Business Ethics Personal religious beliefs should impact our decisions about business ethics heavily, but positively. According to Lawrence and Weber (2017), “business ethics is the application of general ethical ideas to business behavior,” (p. 94). We need to keep in mind that our decisions about business ethics are no different than decisions we make about ethics in general. Our faith in God and values should always be taken into consideration as we are acting before regardless of our environment. My personal religious beliefs about life have an extreme impact my sense of business ethics and personal decision-making. Before I make any decisions whether it is regarding work or my personal life, I think about how the decisions would affect me, anyone involved, and if it’s the best decision to make. I am a true believer of karma, both good and bad, so I try to make the most fair and genuine decisions as possible. I know God is watching my every move and good only comes from good. Sometime I may have to make tough decisions that are not easy for myself or anyone involved, but as long as my intentions are good then I believe positive outcomes could still come from it. It doesn’t seem odd to connect every belief we have about life back to what we believe about as God plays a major role in our lives and has a tremendous impact on our life itself. Our faith and belief in God is what stirs us in the right direction to make the most honest and appropriate decisions possible.
