A corporation that commits crimes is a greater threat than a person, because the impact of the crime is greater and effects a larger number of people. According to the FBI statistics, in 2015 robberies cost Americans $390 million in stolen goods (“FBI Latest Crime Statistics”, 2016). On the other hand corporate air pollution cost Americans $131 billion for medical bills (Harvey, 2016) . Corporate crimes have a potential to reach a large number of people, whereas a person committing a crime on a business may only effect those within that entity. Death and violence is greater when corporations are committing the crime versus a person. For instance, if a drug company fails to release certain side effects it has the potential to effect the health of anyone who has access to the drug. Kathleen Frydl (2016) discussed the lawsuits against Purdue Pharma and their negligence in the creation and distribution of OxyContin. Purdue Pharma created the drug to
