A Recovery Group instance is associated with certain Functional Units. The service related to the RG is running in the active Recovery Unit (RU).

The QNUP Recovery Groups have the following functions and characteristics: • It is bound to EIPU nodes • Holds the termination of IP addresses at the IP layer • terminates the User Plane connections from any logical interface from several neighboring nodes • Has a hot active/standby redundancy scheme for end user connection resilience
