WP-Writing The Middle Paragraphs assignment covering Ballade of Worldly Wealth The main subject of Andrew Lang’s Ballad of Worldly Wealth is money and its effects on people. It has a serious tone/mood to it as it pertains to a real life issue. Andrew Lang is the speaker of this poem which is set in the town he lives in. The audience Lang is addressing covers everyone who reads it, as well as priests, shop keepers, farmers and all who lived in his town. The Ballad of Worldly Wealth is a ballad. It has a story, a chorus, rhythm and shape and rhyme. These are all characteristics of a ballad. It is also about a real or imaginary event with a plot. The structure of a ballad often has a series of four-line stanzas. Its contents include 3 stanzas, and at least 8 lines in each stanza. The lines are organized in ABABBCBC format with a rhyme pattern. In the first stanza the talk is a lot about money and how people are fooled by it. It shows money in a negative light. It details the pitfalls that can come with money. For example
