There are many factors to be considered in your everyday practice as a nurse. As described by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing each state describes the rules and guidelines by which a nurse should practice under. These rules were developed to protect the public and ensure that no harm comes to anyone under the care of a registered nurse. These rules are always changing as the nursing scope of practice evolves (NCSBN, 2016). Other factors that determine your scope of practice would be your employer’s policies, level of education, regulatory agencies and professional organizations.
