Unformatted text preview: First-year Writing Program, English 10 and English 5B Portfolio Procedures and Requirements The writing you produce for your English 5B and 10 classes will be evaluated with a portfolio system. A portfolio is a collection of your written work that you have created and revised over the entire semester. This means that your portfolio should demonstrate both a product, final documents that are polished and that show the best work that you can do, and a process, the drafts and thinking and writing that you have done to get to the product. For the midterm portfolios, you will submit a collection of writing that demonstrates your learning as a writer up to that point in the semester. Two of your classmates will read and assess your portfolio; their assessment will not be part of your grade, but will be part of the landscape of assessment for your portfolio. I will also read and assess your portfolio, and read what your colleagues have said about your work, and then give you a final grade.
