Scientific Method Outline I. Hypothesis A. If you use Dial hand soap, then you will have less microbes than if you use Treasury hand soap. II. Experimentation A. Variables 1. Independent variable is brand of soap 2. Dependent variable is the number of colonies formed. B. Process 1. Petri dishes were open for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. 2. Washed hands for one minute each, in warm water. C. Data 1. Treasury hand soap contains skin conditioners 2. Dish with Dial soap had less colonies a. Unwashed half had 11 colonies of large bacteria spots.
