1. Modernists view organizational environment as an entity that lies outside the boundary of the organization, providing the organization with raw materials and other resources(input) and absorbing its products and services(output). Symbolic- interpretivists view the environment as social constructions. They believe environments are constructed from intersubjectively shared beliefs about their existence and by explanations that are set in motion by these beliefs. 2. a. Inter-organizational environment is a network analysis that focuses attention on the complex web of relationships in which a group of organizations is embedded. Linkages an organization has with other elements of its network. b. General environment is composed of other general forces at work in the environment. This includes different sectors: social, cultural, legal, political, economic, technology, and physical. c. International environment are organizations interacting regularly with representatives of organizations from other nations once it expands beyond the boundaries of its home
