Composition of Asian American today Nations of origin : 31.2 % of total legal immigrants are from Asia, 55.5% allowed under employment preference. 49.9 % of foreign-born that are citizens are Asians. Among foreign born Asian immigrant, 3,502,021 are naturalized citizens and 3,510,181 are not citizens. Main Asian immigrant groups are Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Asian Indian, and Cambodian.
