(Note that we always use KCL, KVL, and Ohm's law: for example, to derive the familiar formulas for the voltage and current division in circuits with series/parallel connections.) Here we use the node voltage equations. The strategy is, step by step: (1) Identify and clearly label the reference (ground) node and non-reference nodes in the circuit. (2) If the node is connected to the ground via a voltage source (such as node A in the circuit below), you dont need a KCL equation for this node: just find the node voltage from KVL. (3) For each of the rest non-reference nodes, write a KCL equation for the sum of outgoing currents. (4) Relate the currents to the node voltages through KVL and Ohms law. Note that, at this moment, you use node voltages as reference marks, without any worry of which way the currents actually flow. (5) Solve the equations using substitution or matrix methods.
