After reading the account of the resurrection of Christ in Luke 24 and again in the assigned textbook chapters, express why the resurrection is so important to the Christian worldview. The resurrection of Christ is so important to the Christian worldview because it is the ultimate symbol of God’s power. The apostle Paul wrote about the importance of the resurrection in Corinthians. He wrote, “If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith… For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.” (1 Cor. 15:13-14, 16-17) Believing in Jesus’ resurrection is not optional for Christians. There is no other name under heaven by which one can be saved, and no other method of salvation other than belief in and identification with Jesus’ death, burial, resurrection and ascension.
