Hello Class, Atheism and Christianity seem to mostly agree on the timing of the creation of the universe, with the exception of Young Earth Creationism. Atheism sees the universe as having been created naturally, by scientific processes. Christianity however, sees the universe as being created supernaturally by God, through His power and intention. Either of these views have interesting ramifications for how one lives their life. If one believes in an atheistic story of creation, it would lead to a more “open” schema of rules to live by. You would have to decide what standards you would want to uphold – ethics, morals, et cetera. On the other hand, if you believe in a Christian story of creation, it gives you the context of the Bible and God’s Word to live by.
