IR Review Friday, October 14, 2005 Realism is incomplete- It is incomplete because it forgets about the goodlife Use your worldview Westphalian – What happens within the state, concerns the state States are sovereign Failed States Only time realists would say you intervene in a failed state is when it serves your nationalist interest – when maintainers and transformers criticize Do system reformers offer a response to this criticism? They would say it is their responsibility to take care of this Use case study to answer question – Oz case could work, Capt. Rockwood Case would work OZ- Realists=Chinese and Australian government Realism is a theory about international relations, not what goes on within the state Reformers would say that no, it does matter about what goes on within the state Depends on your worldview What is the critical difference between what we study in IR vs. what is studied in political science?

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
