ETHICS IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION ANALYSIS 2 Ethics in Criminal Justice Administration Analysis Introduction Ethics go hand in hand with professional behaviour. No profession does not require their professionals to act in a manner that is ethical. Despite the fact that there is a widespread emphasis on ethics in all profession the criminal justice system is one of the areas whereby it is not only right to apply ethics, but it is very necessary for it to be applied. Ethics is defined as the definition of what is morally right or wrong or what is good or bad. Ethical considerations in the criminal justice administration system are especially very important because the criminal justice system is one that is faced by very many ethical issues and dilemmas on a day to day basis. The flourishing of the criminal justice systems is based on the following of ethical principles. Ethical standards and principles for individuals are usually attained during training however it is more important for the professionals in this area to develop critical thinking skills to be able to uphold the ethical standards. This is especially very important since the professional are faced with very many ethical dilemmas which do not have a single defined procedure on how they ought to be handled. Every situation that presents itself is different or poses some uniqueness, and therefore a different procedure of handling the situation has to be utilized. Ethical behaviour in the criminal justice field contributes to a very high level of professionalism in the field (Cronkhite, 2013). Analyze the relationship between ethics and professional behavior in the administration of criminal justice. The relationship that exists between ethics and professional behavior is based on the principle of understanding the aspects that govern what is right or wrong and what is good and bad and knowing how to apply these principles in their day to day operations. By right and wrong, in this case, we mean making a judgment that is ethical on the actions of an

Criminal justice professionals are faced with great roles which require the use of force sometimes, discretion sometimes and compliance to the due process at all times. Applying these three principles at the same time is not at all an easy thing. To make it even harder, professionals in this area have to incorporate all these aspects
