We all use computers but do we take the operating systems that we use every day for granted? From Xerox' first Graphical user interface and mouse input system, to Apple's Macintosh, all the way to Windows 8 and Android, this is the story of the history of operating systems. In 1948 the first computer was invented. I was called the Manchester automatic machine. In 1960 IBM created the IBM360, but then came along UNIX. And along with UNIX came change in the operating systems. UNIX was popular because it was easy to get and modify. It didn’t hurt that it was completely free. In 1980 is when there was a big change in development. Even though apple would make better OS’s they still used almost the same layout. Windows 95 was the biggest and best OD in the 90’s. So when you set and think about it you really take it for granted. I never know all this about an os and never even thought about it. You
