Teacher: Mrs. Engel-2nd Grade Observation Sheet Today’s lesson content and activities: Morning work: A mixture of multiplication, fractions, addition, and subtraction. How did the teacher distribute the materials?: Mrs. Engel has one of the kids pass them out. There are two designated paper passers assigned each week. How were interruptions (announcement, visitors, etc.) handled?: Interruptions were welcomed, then the class moved on and continued what they were doing prior to the interruption. How was attendance taken?: Attendance was recorded on a computer after Mrs. Engel listed off her students, checking those of which were absent. How were students directed to begin class?: Mrs. Engel said “Okay! It’s time to get started!” and her students quickly quieted down and awaited instruction. What percentage of time was devoted to instruction?: A good amount of the class period was devoted to instruction in order for the children to understand what they were being told to do. How does the teacher seem to be measuring student learning?:
