MILESTONE #1 Executive overview Our group will be evaluating AWS Case Study: The Weather Company over the next 11 weeks to show how external and internal processes and system components of the organization work and make the company whole. After evaluating the organization our group will be able to show the fundamentals of the enterprises system and business operations and what needs to be done to reach company's goals and needs. The Weather Company was founded in 1978 and it is currently the second largest company in the world. It includes The Weather Channel and Weather Underground, which were launched in 1995. The purpose of the company is to deliver weather forecast to people and organizations around the world. Starting 1995, the company launched its first internet sites. Since then, the company launched mobile and desktop applications that are customized to user locations, which created a great user base across many nations. In 2016 The Weather Company becomes accrued by IBM. In order to grow the business, company underwent some changes, such the redesign of data platforms and organizations applications. The Weather Company utilizes Amazon Web Services to promote availability of the services to everyone. The weather is unpredictable, it requires constant monitoring, which means the organization needs to process and store a lot of data. It is crucial for the information to be processed efficiently to deliver fast, error free operation.
