Businesses are experiencing a digital transformation as digital technology enables changes unimaginable a decade ago. High-performance organizations are taking advantage of what is newly possible from innovations in mobile, social, cloud, big data, data analytics, and visualization technologies. These digital forces enable unprecedented levels of connectivity, and connectedness. 2. More data are collected in a day now than existed in the world 10 years ago. What factors have contributed to this volume of data? Half of all data are in the cloud and generated by mobile and social activities—known as Big Data. 80 percent of people carry their phone for all but two hours of their day; and 25 per cent of 18- to 44-year-olds cannot remember not having their phone with them (Cooper, 2013). As a business leader, you will want to know what steps to take to get a jump on the mobile, social, cloud, big data, analytics, and visualization technologies that will move your businesses forward. Faced with opportunities and challenges, you need to know how to use them before or better than your competitors. 2

3. Assume you had no smartphone, other mobile device, or mobile apps to use for 24 hours. How would that mobile blackout disrupt your ability to function? Actually, to me personal would not affect my ability to function at all. But I will like to share an article posted by Sarah Perez, in Techcrunch.com, she found out that U.S. consumers now spend 5 hours per day on mobile devices. What is a considerable time using a phone. This follows on news from January that said the time spent in mobile apps had increased 69 percent year-over-year. Five hours per day is a 20 percent increase compared with the fourth quarter of 2015, and seems to come at the expense of mobile browser usage, which has dropped significantly over the years. Media and entertainment apps today account for 15 percent of the time we’re spending in apps these days. She also says that U.S. users are spending more than half their time (51 percent) in social media, messaging and media and entertainment applications — including those like Snapchat, which now accounts for 2 percent of users’ daily time spent in apps.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
