Florence Nightingale was an incredible individual.  I agree with you that Nightingale’s work is  still applicable today.  Nightingale was one of the first individuals to discuss how the  environment affected patients ( Zborowsky, 2014).  She also believed it was the nurses  responsibility to manipulate the environment in the best interest of the patients ( Parker & Smith,  2010).   The environment included ventilation, lighting, noise, cleanliness, and variety  ( Zborowsky, 2014).              Personally, I have altered my patient’s environment.   I took care of a young woman; for  the purpose of this discussion we will call her R.F.  R.F. was diagnosed with common variable  immune deficiency (CVID) and had been on the lung transplant list for 3 years.  This past year  R.F was hospitalized in the ICU, on BIPAP 22 hours a day.  To make her hospital room feel

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
