Horrible reign, tirelessly protests, and a powerful American Revolutionary War were now over. The 13 Colonies now faced the task of creating the government they wanted, a government by the people, for the people. As the Constitution was drafted, there were many [Anti-Federalist] who opposed the ratification. To convince them that the US Constitution was the way to go, Federalist wrote the Federalist papers claiming the US needed to come together and create a republic that would set apart itself from anything they had experienced before. In Federalist 10, Publius [Madison] explains that a Republic is the form of government they should establish compared to democracy. Madison decided to connect his constitutional argument by clarifying that the Constitution would be a combo meal. Virtue was a big argument for oppositionist, and by separating powers into Federal and State levels, it would reduce malpractice of elected officials. By electing officials to represent people, views can be “reined and enlarged.” It would be hard to get everyone in the country to come together and vote to pass
