CAMOSUN COLLEGE MENG 181 MECHANICAL MECHANICAL CONTROL PROGRAMMING - LAB REPORT 9 OBJECTIVE- To become familiar with the installation and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). APPARATUS – 1. PLC powered by a +24 VDC power supply. 2. Solid state wires. THEORY- PLC (Programmable Logic Controller ) - it is an industrial digital computer which has been ruggedized and adapted for the control of manufacturing processes, such as assembly lines , or robotic devices, or any activity that requires high reliability control and ease of programming and process fault diagnosis. The PLCs that we will use are powered by a +24VDC power supply. The power supply is connected to the input side of the PLC. The positive voltage goes to terminal 1, the negative to terminal 2 and the earth is connected to terminal 3, counted from left to right. Wiring Inputs - the positive or negative 24 VDC terminal is connected to the DC IN COM (DC Input Common) terminal. This results in getting the output as either a true or a false (dependent on which terminal is connected to COM).

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
