2 Food Intake Records Many individuals may not know this, but the food that we consume plays a vital role on our everyday lives. Every single persons’ diet plan can alter ones’ mood, weight, energy level throughout the day, and the way their body combats diseases. A healthy lifestyle with proper diet and exercise can help prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, strokes, and other common health problems. On the other hand, an unhealthy diet and lifestyle may cause depression, lack of energy or drive, chronic diseases, and in some cases death. According to data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, “In 2013-2104: More than 2 in 3 adults were considered to be overweight or have obesity, about 1 in 13 adults were considered to have extreme obesity, and about 1 in 6 children/adolescents ages 2 to 19 were considered to have obesity” (Cynthia Ogden, 2017). For some it seems simple to choose the correct path, but others may find it difficult for various different reasons. While taking all of this into consideration, I have continued my regular food intake and recorded the data to see my eating habits over the course of three days. This data will reveal the good and bad of my diet, and potentially change it for the better. Intake of Proteins, Carbohydrates, and Lipids The main substances that our cells need and utilize are derived from lipids, carbohydrates, and proteins. “Each of these substances plays a different role in the body, and all
