What is area? Area is the amount of space inside the boundary of a 2 dimensional figure The area of a 2D figure is described by the number of unit squares that are be contained within it

Units of measurement Area is generally measured in square units Eg square centimetres (sq. cm or cm 2 ) Larger areas are measured in hectares 100m x 100m = 10, 000m 2
