Economics 116A Prof. Duffy Course Code: 62150 Winter Quarter 2017 Game Theory I Course Content and Objectives: This course is a rigorous introduction to game theory , the study of strategic behavior among parties having opposed, mixed or similar interests. The course will sharpen your understanding of strategic behavior in encounters with other individuals which are represented as games . You will learn how to recognize and to model strategic situations, to predict when and how your actions will influence the decisions of others and to exploit strategic situations for your own benefit. Course Prerequisites: (Economics 15B or Statistics 120B) and (Economics 100A or Economics 105A). Lectures: We will meet for lectures on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-6:20pm in HH 178 My Office and Office Hours: 3285 Social Science Plaza B, Mondays, 9-11am Telephone: 949-824-8341 Email: [email protected] Course Website: Requirements: There will be two exams: a midterm and a final examination.
