2 Introduction The element of globalisation is one that has been under evaluation and analysis by various people from around the world. It is a term that is used under various contexts and circumstances to refer to different concepts or elements. As a result, the debate over the generally accepted definition of globalisation continues up to this day. Several experts and analysts have endeavoured with varying success to explain the meaning of the term globalisation with each using a different perspective. Globalisation is not an easily describable term and as yet, not a single person has been able to come up with an all-inclusive beginning and end. Some scholars have projected that globalisation is the amplification of global social relations, which connect distant localities in such a manner that the events of one nation of the world can be influenced by happenings in another part of the world (Jones, 2010). To some extent, this definition is accurate in the sense that it accounts for the fact that in globalisation, several countries in different locations of the world are linked in a manner that influences the economic, social and even political conditions of the incorporated states. It is true that globalisation leads to significant impacts on a global scale in terms of interdependence and other factors. A dissimilar author defined globalisation as the conceptualisation of the worldwide political and economic environment that believes in the notion that all economic activity, whether local, continental or global, must be carried out with a viewpoint and attitude that is continuously global in its scope (Ritzer, 2010). This definition implies that globalisation is the international correlation of states in an attempt to achieve political understanding and thereby facilitate the trading of multiple nations. 3 actually reflective of the true global state. Many countries throughout the world have engineered various political methods that have allowed them to engage in global trade. The objective of this paper is to examine how the element of globalisation has influenced global development from various viewpoints. This entails an evaluation of the positive impacts that globalisation has had so far on the global economic, political cultural, social and environmental landscape. To support each observation, relevant examples will be applied in order to justify these suppositions. Positive Implications of Globalisation on International Development The positive influences that globalisation has had on the growth and development of involved nations is quite significant and expansive. The combination of efforts, resources and agendas of nations in the world had been carried out in good faith and in the hope of achieving combined goals for the benefit of all.
