Santa Monica College CS 20A Summer 2016 Coding Recommendations 1 Here are some coding recommendations based on a review of student submissions for Program #1. Note that the best code is concise. Extra coding is seldom justified. 1. Class implementation code must be contained in the same namespace as the header. Note that implementation code does not use the namespace; it is in the namespace. #include "ThreeDPoint.h" #include <math.h> using namespace cs20a; ThreeDPoint ::ThreeDPoint( int x , int y , int z ) { this ->x = x ; this ->y = y ; this ->z = z ; } should be #include "ThreeDPoint.h" #include <math.h> namespace cs20a { ThreeDPoint ::ThreeDPoint( int x , int y , int z ) { this ->x = x ; this ->y = y ; this ->z = z ; } // Other code here... } 2. Always initialize member variables in the default constructor to their default values. ThreeDPoint ::ThreeDPoint() {} should be ThreeDPoint ::ThreeDPoint(): x(0), y(0), z(0) {}

    As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

    The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
