1. The Guy Fawkes Plot Many of us know the name “Guy Fawkes,” but very few of us actually know who he was or why his name is infamous. This article teaches us about him. In 1605, a group of thirteen people attempted to kill the king, in order to restore the monarchy to Catholicism. Guy Fawkes was one of the individuals who was involved in the plot, which proved to be unsuccessful. Fawkes’ plan was almost a success, however, during a search, authorities found Fawkes guarding a large amount of gunpowder. For his involvement, he was executed. He died on January 31 st of 1606.
