Daniel Sou Mathematician 1. Job description/duties: What responsibilities would you have? Mathematicians use advanced mathematics to develop and understand mathematical principles, analyze data, and solve real-world problems. Mathematicians work in the federal government and in private science and engineering research companies. They may work on teams with engineers, scientists, and other professionals. The responsibilities of a mathematician is to address the relationships of quantities, magnitudes, and forms through the use of numbers and symbols. They apply mathematical theories and techniques to the solution of practical problems in business, engineering, or the sciences. They assemble sets of assumptions and explore the consequences of each set. They also conduct research to extend mathematical knowledge in traditional areas, such as algebra, geometry, probability, and logic. They develop new principles, and new relationships between existing mathematical principles, to advance mathematical science. They perform computations and apply methods of numerical analysis to data.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
