Nike’s is known to be the apple of the shoes and apparel industry. A company that began in America decided to changes things up and makes the company more profitable by completely moving all manufacturing to Asia. In the texts it states, “At first, it made most if its shoes in japan (some were made in the united states until 1980), but as wages rose there it moved contracts to plants in South Korea and Taiwan. When wages rose in these countries, Nike again shifted production this time to china, Indonesia, and Thailand, and later Vietnam.” By doing it put Nike over the top and made it a very profitable company. But as basic finance states, a high reward comes high risk. Many newspaper articles were being published to make awareness of the harsh wages and work conditions Nike workers were undergoing. Nike workers were getting paid next to nothing and working in condition unfathomable. In the text it states, “Sadisah worked on an assembly line 10-and-a-half- day, six days a week, making$1.03 per day or about $0.14 an hour, less than the Indonesian minimum wage. She was paid only $0.02 an hour for 63 hours of overtime during
