Love Triangle Theory By: Omar Saleh In my short time on this earth I have not seen many healthy relationships. I have been fortunate enough to be exposed to my uncle Kareem and his wife Shatha. I have grown up all my life with this couple. They are close in age to my parents but yet their children are relatively younger than my siblings and I. When I view the different theories of love the one that depicts them the best is the Triangular Theory. “The triangle theory of love emphasizes three important elements of love that interact with one another: intimacy, passion, and decision/commitment.” (Sternberg, 1986, 1988). It has not been an easy road for them. They have been married for over 15 years and the first 10 years of the marriage were very challenging. I remember that my aunt Shatha would come over and play with us often and in the midst of playing with us she would burst into tears and then my uncle would grab and hold her. This would make us feel very sad and often we thought that we upset her. As my siblings and I grew older we learned that playing with us reminded her that she was having difficulties conceiving children of her own.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
