What, according to Lame Deer, does being a good medicine man entail? What, according to Lame Deer, does being a good medicine man entail? According to Lame Deer, being a good medicine man entails being in the right midst of the turmoil, experiencing both sides of the situation and not shielding yourself from it. Being a good medicine man means not taking sides but having a first-hand experience from both the good and the bad situation, the magic, and the reality, the despair and joy, the courage and fear his people are going through in their day to day lives. How does Lame Deer’s view of the relation between good and bad differ from the traditional Christian view? According to Lame Deer, there is a relationship between good and bad. He argues that you can never be pure rather good all the time. He suggests that for you to become good, you must go through the bad side of the coin.
