2. What is the “green frog skin” a metaphor of?” Why is it an effective metaphor? Why do you suppose he compares it to a “frog skin?” The Green Frog Skin is a metaphor used to describe the dollar bill. It is an interesting metaphor that is used to describe money. Lame Deer understands the significance of the green frog skin influence it has to not only the Indians buy also the humanity at large. Thus, the metaphor proves to be effective in describing two straddled words. These two worlds include the sacred path of the Lakota tradition and the influential western culture. He compares money with the frog skin to describe people who are driven with unsatisfied greed an insatiable hunger for money. He describes them as frog skinners only bred to be consumers not humans making them a threat to the Indian culture. For instance, these frog skinners exterminated the buffalo and replaced them with livestock. The killings did not portend
