Running head: ARTICLE REVIEW 1 Article Review Presented by Instructor Course Title Date 1. Based on your textbook's explanation of experimental design, what kind of design would you say Loftus & Palmer used in their experiments? Loftus & Palmer used an independent measures design because the study involves two different groups; one group consists of 45 participants and the other group consists of 150 participants. 2. Identify the Independent and Dependent variables in the two experiments. How do Loftus & Palmer operationalize these variables? In both experiments, the independent variable is the verb utilized. On the other hand, the participants are the dependent variable in experiment 1 while in experiment 2, the dependent variable is whether the participant believed they saw glass. Loftus and Palmer operationalized the variables in terms of wording. The independent variable is operationalized based on the word smash and hit, and independent variable based on the answer the participants estimate in response to a question.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
