MINI PROFILE Mini profiles Paolo is a 17 year old student. He is learning English as a foreign language. He is into football, girls and Barcelona, his favourite team. He is not into studying and is very noisy. The lesson plan is to help him learn as effectively as possible. For Paolo it will be easier for him to learn one to one as compared to classroom study. One to one is important as it is very easy to for changes to be made and for it to be made to suit the needs of both the student and the teacher. This makes it flexible. Moreover, one to one gives the students a chance to take the initiative in learning process. Unfortunately, this method means the teacher has to be well knowledgeable in the area of teaching. There will be constant interaction hence this means there will be many questions from the student. The teacher should be well equipped and competent enough to answer the questions. This method also depends on the rapport between the teacher and student. A bad rapport means that the student will not learn as effectively and the teacher will have trouble reaching to a student like Paolo. In this method the student may not live up to the teachers expectations. This method will be most effective for Paolo who is not keen on studying. Objectives of the lesson plan is to teach the student on the use of a dictionary, how to find words in a dictionary, finding synonyms and opposite. Paolo should also learn micro skills for example paraphrasing, understanding and clarifying, proper spelling. The teacher should follow after the course for example Paolo should join an English club. He should also write an essay or journal on how they have been using English after completing the course.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
