The themes of love, honor and sacrifice in Cyrano de Bergerac Cyrano de Bergerac is a play that reflects the themes of love, honor, and sacrifice in a twisting story of a brilliant poet and swordsman, Cyrano. Cyrano is deeply in love with the beautiful Roxane, but due to his shockingly large nose and unappealing appearance he has no courage to speak out his true feelings (Rostand, Bolt, and Bristol, 2012). However, he manages to gain honor through his brilliance and charisma. He is able to use trickery to win the heart of Roxane. However, due to his facial appearance and lack of self-esteem, he uses trickery to speak out his heart without Roxane knowing that it was him who wrote her letters and poems. Cyrano learns that Roxane is in love with Christian and he takes advantage of this information to write letters addressed to Roxane, pretending to be Christian. In the thrilling story Cyrano uses trickery to speak his heart to Roxane under the pretense that he was Christian.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
