Angina Chest pain resulting from myocardial ischemia. Imbalance from oxygen supply and demand. Obstruction of coronary blood flow. Arthersclorosis. Coronary artery spasm Consitions increasing myocardial oxygen consumption Overall goal is to provide treatment and relief of acute attack Imbalance between demand. Prevent progression of disease. Stop it before it leads to an MI. Stable Angina – reversible angina, occurs with activites that involve exertion, emotional stress. Relieves with rest and nitroglycerin. Usually has a stable pattern. Predictable Unstable – preinfarction. Unpredictible degree of exertion. Motion. Increases in Occurance. Progressively gets worse. Pain may not be relieved with nitroglycerin. Variant Angina – Prinzmetal/Vasospastic – results from a coronary artery spasm. May occur at rest. Attacks may elevated with ST May be awaken by spasm at night Chronic Angina – does not respond to interventions. Preinfarction angina. Acute coronary insufficiency.
