Steven Engelhardt 11.12.14 Period 3 Why Do People Tell Stories People tell stories for many different things. For example some people tell stories to entertain or other ideas. Stories have been around for as far back as the cavemen. Some other reasons people will tell stories for historical reasons, entertainment, and teach some lessons. People tell historical stories to help remember what happened in the past so that we don’t forget what happened before we became technology freaks. For example we know about the british men who came here as colonists. Another thing we wouldn’t know about the past is about the constitution. If people didn’t write stories about history our society wouldn’t be a real society. In “The People Could Fly” it teaches a fun lesson about the slaves and when they were being captured, for example on pg. 63 line 6 its says “then, many of the people were captured for slavery.” A quote that makes this story historical is that it says on pg. 64 line 23 it says “the slaves labored in the fields from
