Unformatted text preview: Part One: Scenario 4:
1. Identify the independent and dependent variables in Carmen’s
experiment. The amount salt added to the water, and the time allowed for it
to freeze in the freezer would be considered Carmen’s independent
variables. Carmen’s experiment contained dependent variables which was
the salt water freezing and the time that it took the salt water to freeze.
2. Do the experiment and results support the hypothesis as it was written?
Explain your answer. The outcome of the experiment did not support the
hypothesis as written. Carmen’s educated guess was that the greater the
amount of salt that was dissolved in the water the less time it would take for
the water to freeze. The results were opposite of the hypothesis. Therefore,
the results did not support her hypothesis.
3. Identify some specific changes that you would suggest for Carmen’s
experiment in order to specifically test her hypothesis. Give a specific
explanation for why these changes are improvements. One suggestion
would be for Carmen to possibly add less salt more times equaling up to
the 5.0 grams or maybe even higher. This way I think her experiment would
more accurate and exact. Part Two Purpose- I want to find out which dish washer soap cleans best.
Hypothesis- I'll have to guess which soap will do the best.
Analysis- I will create a chart that shows the amount of time I have used the
soap and how efficient it is.
Variables dependent variable
The dependent variable would be the speed in which the plant grows.
The independent variable is at what time the plant is watered .
Must have the same exact plant no mix of plants.
The amount of water is very important. So make sure to measure the
A plant lay out or set up is controlled.
Use the same soil for all the plants.
The amount of room set for the plants growth.
Research- I will have to look for info that tells me what the best dish
washer soap is.
Experiment- I'll be doing the experiment by running my dishwasher three
times for each soap.
Conclusion- I'll review all the data and see which dish washer soap
works the best. ...
