TYPES OF TEAMS Self-Managing Work Teams Best-known work team is a group of workers who take much of the responsibility for managing their own work Cross-Functional Teams A work group composed of individuals from diFerent specialties, and about the same organizational level, who come together to accomplish a task Virtual Teams A virtual team is a small group of people who conduct almost all of their collaborative work by electronic communication rather than face-to-face meetings Crews A group of specialists each of whom have speci±c roles, perform brief events that are closely synchronized with each other, and repeat these events under diFerent environmental conditions
