John Wesley was a man of God who spent over 50 years of his life preaching and teaching the gospel. His passion was to teach and share the love of God with everyone. [1] In one of Wesley’s well-known sermons entitled “The Witness of the Spirit.” Wesley’s teaches us that we are leaving children of God that we belong to him [2] . He goes on to tell us that if we believe in the Scriptures we must believe that the word of God is true. Wesley believed that we need to defend the truth, he warns us that there is “danger on the right hand and on the left” [3] . I believe the point that Wesley is trying to make in this statement is that there are dangers on both sides even in the religious circles and that we need to be aware of what is going on around us and to truly live the gospel and not just a part of it. When he tells us that we must defend the truth, he is saying that we must know the word of God in order to defend it. The only way we can do that is
