Research Topic: Child Welfare 2 Child Welfare The topic I chose to do my research on is child welfare. This subject is very dear to me not only as a parent, but because it seems to be almost daily that I see or hear a report of another child being abused or killed. So, my first reason for choosing child welfare is because I do not believe the current regulations are benefiting the children in the system. Another reason that I chose this topic is because of the need for a more effective process for monitoring states that are below the standard child welfare regulations. Therefore, I believe there should be standard child welfare regulations that are periodically monitored and reviewed in each state to help reduce child abuse nationwide. Through my research, I want to speak to the hearts of lawmakers and publics officials who can help changes these standards to truly benefit the children that need them. I want to
