ANOREXIA NERVOSA ANOREXIA NERVOSA The mental health condition discussed in this paper is an eating disorder known as Anorexia nervosa. This mental condition is the target for my promotion in order to help those who are exposed to it. Eating disorders have severe consequences for productivity, health and relationships. Anorexia nervosa is usually characterized by the fear of gaining weight, forcing the patient to take relentless dietary habits to prevent weight gain. This then grows to an abnormal eating behavior which is accompanied by extreme measures to remain of a particular size. Pathophysiology Most cases of anorexia nervosa involve teenagers who are slightly overweight. This condition might interfere with normal adolescent development. The person involved normally begins a diet plan and an exercise plan because of the concern about their weight. The process may have positive results and could be accompanied by comments from the peers because of the change in appearance. Once the ideal weight is achieved, the reward becomes high, causing an inability to stop the behavior. The behavior then escalates to conditions that were unplanned for which then interferes with the mental health of the patient.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
