In society it is important to have a system in place to protect the majority. A group of people in the legislative, executive, and judicial branches make that happen. That system (separation of power and system checks) provides equal representation/power amongst people which allows the monarch, legislator, and aristocracy to have a voice in the matter which prevents people from getting taken advantage of. According to Fine & Levin-Waldman (2016), “Separation of powers creates the opportunity for checks and balances. The tendency toward abuse of power, such as with despotism and corruption, would be limited because of the checks placed on power across the branches of government” (Section 1.1, para 10). The legislative, executive, and judicial branches work with one and another to make and pass laws that will not cause a threat to individual liberty. Moreover, the separation of powers is effective because it mitigates chaos and protects the commonwealth of citizens. Take for example the war that happened in 2003 in Iraq.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
