Public and Private Roman Virtues Assignment In this activity you will analyze and discuss Roman virtues and their place in modern society and in your own life. Use the lists from the Public and Private Roman Virtues List. I. Look at the list of PRIVATE Roman virtues. What are the five most important virtues from this list? Place them in order of importance (1 being most important) and explain why they are important in contemporary society. Private Roman Virtue from List Why This Virtue is Important in Contemporary Society 1 Prudentia: "Prudence" Foresight, wisdom, and personal discretion. Before you can have a quality of life you must first have a plan. To do that you need foresight and wisdom and personal discretion. These three tools will guide you to a successful contemporary society and allow you to continue to grow and learn new things. 2 Industria: "Industriousness" Hard work. Every plan requires hard work. Nothing worth having comes without sacrifice. You must put time and thought into how to make a thriving society that will have virtues and that requires working hard to assure that this can be done successfully. It will not be easy, and it will not be handed to you but the rewards will be worth the effort.
