In a film, the director oversees the making of a movie and is directly responsible for the outcome. Although making a movie is a collective effort the director is the one to blame if the film is a success or if it is a failure. The director is also known as the “Auteur” which transcends to the “Auteur theory.” As described in Film: From Watching to Seeing , Goodykoontz & Jacobs (2014) write “When applied to film directing, auteur theory posits that the director is indeed the author of the film” (Section 9.3, para 1). In other words, an auteur is an author in a film in contrast to an author of a book; both put their ideas together so viewers could see their message. I would consider Sylvester Stallone, an auteur. People may argue, but Stallone’s directing style and his vision attract a lot of individuals. Most if not all of his movies are sports or independent action films. Stallone is a person of vision; a great director who is excellent at entertaining people.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
